Blue Whistling Thrush + subsp. M.c.caeruleus
Hello friends,
Today I'm sharing the largest thrush in the world. This pretty aggressive bird makes all other species run away when showing up... 178 grams (6.3 oz) and 33 cm (13 inches) !!!
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
...this is the subspecies caeruleus, which is a bit smaller and less common. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Please notice the obvious -facial- difference... the beak! Nominal Species -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- M.c.caeruleus Hope you guys enjoy better than I do when it comes and eating all my meal worms, scares all others away for a good while... Cheers!

Hey Alex, nice bird, for us anyways. Kind of like having a hawk at your feeder, huh? All of your birds are great! Thanks for sharing with us.

Cool Dave, thanks! I have to say that ever since this International Birding Forum was created, I feel a bit let down, since few people looks inside here... was like putting us and our far away-exotic birds in a corner of the house... behind the fern...

As t!hey say, "You can lead them to water..." Right now people seem to busy with other things, it is not just your stuff. Keep it up! People are looking at your stuff, just not responding. I have similar issues, look at my ID video. Ah well. Whatcha gonna do?

Alex,
Please don't let the lack of responses discourage you from posting your pictures. I use the "active" panel to the right of the post section to see the new posts and check it almost daily. I enjoy looking at all your pictures, they are truly amazing. Because I am never familiar with these birds I often don't have anything to say about the birds but I love seeing them. As Dave said it seems that people are occupied with other things recently, I have gotten no comments on some of my posts this winter that in the past would have gotten at least one "way to go". Again keep posting, you have at least two "fans" here.

Hello! I'm somebody that's been looking around and not responding. My name is Eric (from Mexico) and I'm new on the Birder's World
forum. I've never commented in the forum, and would like to remarck that the Thrush (beautiful indeed) reminded me of the Blue Mockingbird. I hope I've posted this correctly! Good-bye.

Cool Thorn! I love dogs as pets!... however, when my daughter was 2 (we still were living in Costa Rica) we got her a funny and beautiful black bunny that stayed with us until the day we came to Asia. We gave it to my mom and she released Mr Pepe on the farm... After years, he still comes from time to time to eat with the chicken... Now is such a huge animal -my mom says-... Thanks for your comment Erick... indeed it is a huge Thrush! Cheers!

Nice pics of some very cool birds. They would like it here. I have earth worms that are over 10 inches long, which is longer than some of the varieties of snakes I have here.
Beautiful, aggressive and runs everyone off? That reminds me of my....never mind.

Are these true thrushes? They seem a lot more like members of the Jay or Cuckoo family to me.

They are beautiful. If they run out of habitat, I have some here. :) I thought one of the Barred Owls here had a snake in it's talons but, it was a 10 inch earthworm. lol
